Who we are

Mobile View is developed and published by Bright Ideas (brightideas.com.tr). Mobile View is a mobile client for Dahua Mobile Center / DSS fleet servers — it lets a fleet operator view live and recorded vehicle video, track vehicle location, and review safety alarms from a server their organization already runs.

We refer to Bright Ideas as “we” or “us,” and to the person using the app as “you.”

Mobile View does not operate its own servers or cloud backend. When you sign in, the app connects directly from your device to the Dahua Mobile Center / DSS server that your employer or organization controls, using the address and credentials you enter. Video, GPS positions, and alarm records travel directly between that server and your device — they do not pass through, or get stored on, any system that Bright Ideas operates.

This matters for how you should read the rest of this policy: for the fleet data itself (video, location, driver alarms), your organization’s server operator is the data controller, not Bright Ideas. We describe below exactly what the app itself collects and stores.

The table below is the complete list of data Mobile View handles on your device.

Mobile View uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting only – if the app crashes or hits an unhandled error, technical diagnostics (listed in the table above) are sent to help us find and fix the bug. We do not run advertising SDKs or any usage/behavioral analytics (screen views, session length, feature usage, and similar are not collected). If that changes in a future version, we will update this policy and the app-store data-safety disclosures before release.

04 Your organization’s fleet data

Your organization’s fleet data

Live and recorded video, GPS location history, and safety alarms (including driver-behavior alerts such as drowsiness, phone use, or smoking detection) are generated and stored by your organization’s own Dahua server — not by Bright Ideas. Mobile View simply requests and displays this data while you’re using the app; it is not copied to a Bright Ideas–operated system, and we have no access to it.

Questions about how long this data is kept, who else can see it, or how to access or delete it should go to whoever administers your organization’s Dahua server — typically your employer’s fleet or IT department.

Third-party services

The Live GPS Map and GPS Playback screens draw street map imagery from OpenStreetMap. Loading a map sends standard web request data (your device’s IP address and the map tiles requested) to OpenStreetMap’s tile servers, governed by their own privacy practices. No vehicle, driver, or account data is included in these requests.

Mobile View uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to receive crash and error diagnostics when something goes wrong in the app. This is limited to technical debugging data (see the table in Section 3) – it does not include your fleet’s video, location, or alarm data, and we have not configured it to collect usage analytics.

Connecting Mobile View to a real fleet server requires an active subscription, purchased and billed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) are handled directly by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies – we never receive or store them. We only learn whether a subscription is currently active, which we check against Apple’s/Google’s own purchase records.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.

06 How we secure data

How we secure data

• Saved server credentials are encrypted using the operating system’s secure credential store (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain) — never stored as plain text.
• Connections to your fleet server use HTTPS by default; if your organization’s server uses a self-signed certificate, the app will prompt you before trusting it.
• Turning off “Remember me” removes any saved credentials from the device immediately.
• Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data, including saved credentials and settings.

07 Data retention & deletion

Data retention & deletion

Mobile View keeps only what’s needed to reconnect you conveniently: your server address, saved credentials (if “Remember me” is enabled), and your language preference. Video, GPS, and alarm data are not cached or retained by the app beyond what’s needed to display them on screen.

To delete everything the app stores locally, turn off “Remember me” on the login screen, or uninstall the app.

08 Driver & employee monitoring

Driver & employee monitoring

Mobile View can display active-safety alarms generated by in-vehicle cameras — including detections such as drowsiness, phone use, or smoking. This is a form of employee monitoring, and in many jurisdictions it comes with legal obligations: informing drivers that monitoring occurs, obtaining consent where required, and limiting use of the data to legitimate safety purposes.

These obligations belong to the organization operating the fleet server and deploying the vehicle cameras — typically your employer — not to Bright Ideas. If you administer a fleet using Mobile View, we recommend confirming your monitoring practices comply with local workplace-privacy and data-protection law (for example GDPR in the EU, KVKK in Türkiye, or applicable state law in the US) before enabling driver-behavior alarms.

09 Children’s privacy

Mobile View is a professional fleet-management tool intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10 Your rights & choices

Your rights & choices

Because Bright Ideas does not hold your fleet’s video, location, or alarm data, requests to access, correct, or delete that data should go to your organization’s server administrator. For the small amount of data the app itself stores on your device (saved credentials, language preference), you’re always in control — clear it at any time via the app’s “Remember me” toggle or by uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy — such as adding analytics or crash reporting — we’ll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you through the app or app-store release notes before the change takes effect.
